A professor emeritus of economics at the University of Southern Mississippi (Southern Miss) in Hattiesburg, MS, Dr. Mark Klinedinst has served the academic community for decades as both a researcher and an educator. Dr. Mark Klinedinst earned his BA in government at Clark University and his MA and PhD in economics from Cornell University. Before relocating to Hattiesburg, MS, and joining the faculty at Southern Miss in the mid-1980s, he lived and worked in New York, Minnesota, and Maryland.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Mark Klinedinst has authored articles for dozens of peer-reviewed publications, including Journal of Economic Issues and the European Economic Review. He also has written and edited a number of books and book chapters. One of his latest works, Katrina Ten Years After, explores the socioeconomic recovery of U.S. communities in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. In addition to contributing to Katrina Ten Years After as an author, Dr. Klinedinst served as the book’s editor.
